EMF on infrared panels, what do people actually look at?

Question that comes up a lot so let's keep it practical. When folks shop infrared they often ask about EMF readings from the panels. From what I can tell, manufacturers will publish or test for low-EMF construction, and some buyers bring a basic meter to check near the panels versus a few inches away. Not getting into any health stuff here, just what's measurable and how units describe it. What did you all care about when comparing?

New here, where do I even start?

Hi everyone. We just bought our first house and a home sauna has been on my list for years. The problem is I have no idea where to begin. Indoor or outdoor? Infrared or traditional? Every page I read sends me down a new rabbit hole. Glad I found a place where people actually talk through this stuff.

Overhang on the roof, how much is enough?

Designing the roof for an outdoor build. How much overhang are people running past the walls to keep rain off the cladding and the door?

Renting, is a home sauna even an option for me?

Hey everyone. I rent a two bedroom and assumed a sauna was off the table since I cannot do any permanent install. Is there a realistic option for renters, something that does not need hardwiring or wrecking a wall? Would love to hear from anyone who pulled this off in a rental.

Long-time lurker finally saying hi

I have been reading this forum quietly for months and figured it was time to actually introduce myself. Hi all. Still in research mode but learning a ton from you people.

Arosa barrel went up in an afternoon, a few notes

Finished the Arosa this weekend. Notes for the next person: lay out every stave before you start, snug the bands in passes instead of cranking one tight, and don't fully tighten anything until the door frame is in and square. Took us about five hours with coffee breaks.

Do heater guards kill the heat output?

Adding a wooden guard around the cage for safety. Worried it'll block radiant heat and make the room take forever to warm. Real concern or no?

Electrician or DIY the 240V run?

I'm comfortable with basic wiring but a sauna heater feels like a different level. Wet room, high current, all of it. Where did you draw the line?
