Do heater guards kill the heat output?

HollyPosted 2w ago2 replies

Adding a wooden guard around the cage for safety. Worried it'll block radiant heat and make the room take forever to warm. Real concern or no?

Mine added maybe a couple minutes to warmup, not noticeable in practice.

A proper open slat guard barely affects warmup. It's there to stop accidental contact, not to enclose the heater. Don't box it in solid and you're fine.
